FYM, Ciments Français subsidiary in Spain, operates 3 cement plants in Malaga, Añorga (San Sebastian) and Arrigorriaga (Bilbao), 20 batching units, 7 quarries and 4 logistic centres. FYM holds the cement market leadership in the Basque country and is one of the main producers in Andalucía. In both areas it also holds an important position in the production of concrete and aggregates. The revamping and restyling of the Malaga plant was completed in 2007. The project was the biggest ever investment in Malaga, coming from a private source (more than 100 million euros), and especially designed to meet environmental requirements and implement state-of-the-art technology. The major technical improvement is a production line of 3,300 tonnes of clinker/day, which consists of a latest generation pre-heater, a kiln and a grate cooler. As a result of this, power consumption, dust and gas emissions showed considerably low values. The new facilities have allowed the use of alternative fuels. The new 45,000-tonne capacity clinker silo in Añorga Plant, with its modern extractors that remarkably reduce dust emissions, is a recent investment proving Ciments Français commitment towards environmental sustainability.CEMENT PLANTS LOCATION
