Ciments Français in Kazakhstan
Ciments Français entered the Kazakh market in 1998 through the acquisition of ShymkentCement. The cement plant is situated in the southern part of the country and began operations in 1958.
Today four out of six cement kiln lines are in use and produce about 1.3 Mt of cement per year. In 2003 Shymkentcement started the production of oil-well cement.
The concrete company BetonAta was established in 2006 and finalized the first investment in its batching unit in Almaty in 2007.
In Kazakhstan, Ciments Français directly employs 298 people.
